Cell Features
specimen position (air gap) on the wet side can be adjusted anywhere in the test gap from
right up against the wet membrane to right up against the specimen from outside the cell and without opening it.
air gap on the dry side of the specimen can be adjusted with the
use of spacers provided from zero to ten milimeters in increments of
one milimeter.
the cell can be used for making absolute measurements of the
water vapour diffusion of a wide range of textile materials
including those that have microporous or hydrophilic laminations or
coatings.
the moisture mass flow measurement can be made using a weight
measurement method (by computor) or a volume measurement method (by
hand).
measurements are made without opening the cell. This means no
disturbance of the atmosphere in the cell during a test leading to
more reliable results.
Dry air flow is horizontal across the dry side cavity.
The model 643 cell, that has a radial
air flow, can be readily substituted for use in the automated system.
Accessories
The following accessories are needed to run the
system:
A PC running Windows
XP Professional.
Electrical power at
110 VAC.
An air flow of 240 to 600 liters per hour (4 to
10 lpm) per cell.
Air can be supplied by a piped-in laboratory air
system, air bottle/s or an air pump. The apparatus has an in-line
inlet regulator that can take a 300 psig supply through a 1/8” NPT
female port or a 1/4” hose barb fitting.
