Sub Sea Heavy Oil Cargo Extraction
System |

S.E.A.'s
client was a Canadian consulting company which had a partnership with a
large U.S. sub sea engineering firm. The partnership jointly owned a
concept for extracting heavy oil cargoes from sunken vessels.
S.E.A. was contracted to manage a
design team to bring the technology through the detail design stage. The
system consists of a 60 ton (in air) sub sea module connected by sub sea
hoses to barge-mounted oil/water separation equipment and an oil storage
vessel. The sub sea module contains the equipment based on the
proprietary technology to penetrate the plating of a sunken wreck and
extract the cargo to the surface vessels. The picture shows the
